The booth is typically open during those hours. The gates open when the maintenance crews get there. It has been years but thinking as early as 6am/sunrise'ish time. Either pay with the envelope or get a season pass when the gate isn't manned. Passes are only good Dec 31st to Dec 31st so if you buy one now it is only good for 7 months or so.
6 bucks it is. Before I had a boat I fished there more often since it is 10 minutes away and just purchased a annual pass. 50 something if I remember right.
I caught Bass in 3 of the 4 ponds. No one pond seemed any better than the other. Easy enough to work ones away around each in a morning. I usually fished were everyone wasn't just to avoid the crowds. The one closest to the road, not the big pond but the one right after it, is the only one I never caught anything in. I know there is bluegill in it.
