It seems like the medium sized fish are quicker to grab a bait or lure. It can be hard to get past the teenagers to find the bigger boys.
I agree that they aren't stunted. But I also think there is a year or two that for whatever reason... didn't survive well.
I wonder if it was a case of the abundant large fish at that time picking off the new young. Then when those larger fish were harvested or died, there were some gaps in the couple of years below them. I know that there is an abundance of insects in Henry's and that is what most of the fish usually eat, but there are more cutts and brookies proportionally in the lake now, and they are more piscavorious than the rainbows.
Hard to say. It is a real guessing game to keep a balance there. I think that for the most part F&G have done an amazing job.
