I have never seen these boat before
#30
The Skykomish is very stable and great quality. His complaint is that the rear cargo deck isn't connected to the frame at all. It's secured to the pontoons on each side with the nylon straps and "D" rings. When he is rowing, the pontoons flex between the frame and rear cargo deck, even when fully inflated, so he loses some of his rowing power. I see on the later versions of the Skykomish Sunrise pontoons, the frame is connected to the rear cargo deck.

We looked at it in some detail and I'm pretty sure I can fabricate 2 aluminum tubes to fit into the open ends at the rear of the frame and attach them to the under side of the cargo deck, but I will need to buy a pipe bender to do it.

My son also really wants to use an electric trolling motor but the Scadden Skykomish does not have a motor mount. Instructions included with the boat say that he will need to support the rear portion with a piece of 2 X 4 (wood) to mount the motor to. Obviously this is something my son should have taken into consideration before he bought the boat.

In the end, he has pretty much decided to sell the Skykomish and go with something else. Otherwise, the boat is of superior quality and construction. It handles well and is very comfortable to spend the day on.
