The fish-finder transducers are also mounted near the back of the boat. When the captain finds a school of fish over a structure they drive up current, drop the anchor and let out rode until they are over the spot with fish.
They being the transducer for the fishfinders.

You want to be near where the transducers are, not 30' away on the other end of the boat.
