[#0000FF]Pretty harsh from someone who doesn't know me or my past. I have fished along the entire Pacific Coast, from Alaska to Cabo...spending time both working on the boats and as a paying passenger. That goes back to the 1960s. And I have caught virtually every species of fish commonly caught along the entire coastline. I have always been a light tackle specialist and have qualified for several 10-1 certificates...landing fish that weighed more than ten times the rated strength of the line I was using.
I would be the last one to suggest that anyone use light tackle on a full party boat. Most of my best successes were while fishing light loads in midweek, and from landings that were not always full loads. I also fished a lot from my own craft and those of friends, where we could use whatever we chose without infringing upon others.
