I have been out on a few public boats and always had a good time. I have never taken my own gear. I have heard that after being on the great salty it iw wise to stirp it all down to get the salt water out of the reel to keep it from caroding. I do not know if this is fact or fiction it is just what I have heard. Good luck and have fun. I know I have not met a rock fish that was not darn good table fare.
