The middle provo river is pretty slow as well. Went up there last week and caught one 13" rainbow. If you hit deer creek try some poppers, orange and gray scuds, small #12 woolly bugger, and maybe some nymphs. Caught a few bass but nothing great as well but still fun catching a bass on a fly rod.
For bass at the moment from shore look for big boulder rocks and cast it around it then slowly strip it. That's how I've been finding them up there this year. Don't be surprised if you catch a few bluegills or sunfish if you find them as well.
