[#ff0000][size 3]I love the backpack story! I was in the no-where's of western Montana on a little creek you could jump across and found a secluded beaver dam loaded with 20" hungry brookies. I was with a friend and his dad, we were supposed to leave in twenty minutes, I could barely move in the willows, didn't take my creel, having to much fun to make a stringer, and so started stuffing them head first in my bib-overalls. Twenty two minutes and a full limit later I was heading for the truck with fish tails flapping everywhere. I thought my friend's dad was going to split a gut. It took two washings with baking soda before I could wear those bibs in the house again. I've never caught white bass but can see I will have to add them to my list of new species to chase. Is this the best time of year for them or can you pick them up in the summer or later on through the ice? I like the way those Wipers fillet up and taste battered and fried, any comparison?
