So I headed up to Floyd Lamb this weekend to give it a shot on the opening day. As expected it was pretty packed. We caught a few stocker catfish.. nothing to big. The guy next to me caught a 4lb catfish that looked real nice. While we were fishing for catfish I kept seeing these small bass coming up from the edges and picking off these little tiny fish swimming on the bank. So I loaded up my baitcaster with a Texas rigged 6" curly tail worm in purple glitter. Casted along the banks and had a ton of smaller bas chasing it. On about the 5th cast a larger bass came out from a crevice right along the bank and sucked the worm right up. This is the first decent size bass I've caught in a long time (I've only been back in the fishing game for a month or so in the past 12-15 years ) so I'm super stoked!
I'm going to take my daughter tonight to hopefully catch a cat fish.. a few months ago she caught a good sized one on her 16" Barbie poll.
