A long time ago just a few years after the poisoning, I was fishing Soldier Creek by the marina that there were kokes jumping out of the water all over. A couple guys were slaying them throwing big red spoons. I guess the males were hitting them out of aggression.
I went home and tied some red wooly buggers cause you couldn't find them in shops back then and went back the next week. Kokes were still there but I couldn't get them to hit the red bugger partly because I was catching so many trout on it. Its my go to color in stillwater now whether I'm in Utah, Montana, Idaho, etc. trout love it.
Still trying to get a koke on it.
