Snuck out early today, hit the water at sunrise air temp 58 degrees F, water temp 71.4 degrees F... Tried my minnows again and nailed a nice cookie cutter kitty about 8:00 and then I got something different with lots of violent head shakes and then airborn it went, landed a nice smallie on a minnow, that sort of surprised me... Went back in and nailed another nice cookie cutter kitty and from then on the season changed and it was bass after bass after bass... Large and small mouth, but they were pretty small.. The big one of the day was 13", had a couple of those and a few 12" and then down from that.. Ended up with 12 bass today, 2 Channel cats and one nice slab of a crappie, it was only 11" long, but it was so fat I was really impressed with it... Anyway I lost five or six other bass and two other crappie cause they can't hang on when they go in the air... Silly critters... Fun day I really enjoyed it, had to quit at 10:15 so I didn't get in too much trouble with the Mrs... I think the bass and crappie are in a great big school that was moving and I just happened to cross their path today, because they were jumping all over around me, and that really doesn't hardly ever happen... Nice to finally be in the right spot... Kept one smallie today because he swallowed a minnow too deep and didn't make it, let the rest keep swimming for another day... Later J
