Wait a minute....you mean that some stocked fish went downstream out of the reservoir? Do you think that is a shocker? Do you really think that the DWR didn't know that the water users could potentially drain the irrigation reservoir? Seriously?
These kinds of comments simply show ignorance and not understanding. The reality is that the risk of losing fish downstream or to the reservoir being too low or totally drained is worth the reward of some fish surviving. Saying the DWR "screwed the pooch" because some fish are going to be lost is like saying C&R regulations are a waste of tax payer's dollars because some fish die of hooking mortality...
Honestly, do your really believe that if a reservoir is NOT at 100% of capacity it should not be stocked....heck, if that were the case, hardly any of our reservoirs would ever be stocked.
The irony here is that little moniker on the bottom of your post...if the DWR had sat around and worried about what might have happened [the lake being drained] nothing ever would have happened and the reservoir never would have had any fish!
