The truth is that a 20 fish limit with one over 36" is directed at eradication. Don't confuse a desired outcome with an actual plan. Yuba is a tough body of water to manage, but the DWR is a master at avoiding such places. When the walleye were booming they did nothing to create or preserve that situation either, you should expect nothing different when the Northerns are producing.
A big mud hole full of carp is the simplest plan for them to administer and they are up to that challenge.
They will require more people and equipment with additional funding to pull this master plan off.
yeah...the DWR is hell-bent on destroying the best fishing the lake has produced in the last ten years. Yub, you nailed it! The problem, and you obviously don't get it, is that the DWR really can't do much when the walleye or any other species are booming other than to encourage people to harvest them. But, the catch-22 is that the walleye fishermen and, in this case, many of the pike fishermen think they shouldn't harvest fish. The thing about Yuba is that it will always return to a mud hole with carp because the DWR doesn't control the water levels and the DWR cannot control the carp...it is the reality.
