[#0000FF]Hey Bro, I don't think the lack of responses is due to a lack of enjoyment or appreciation. I read 'em and enjoy them but have nothing to contribute except an "attaboy". Sturgeon fishing from a tube or toon is a bit "exotic" for most of our members. Kinda like them dreaming about a marlin trip...or an excursion for great white sharks. Might be doable but just an impossible dream for most.
I have caught quite a few sturgeon from boats and from shore but only one from a tube...an old round tube...on the Sacramento River while fishing for stripers with a piece of sardine for bait. About 6' and a little over 100 pounds. Completely unmanageable in the current with my tube and fins so I had to kick to shore and finish the battle there.
I would love the opportunity to go properly equipped in a stable toon with a powerful enough motor to help keep me out of trouble...mostly. But I also have to fact the reality that it probably ain't ever gonna happen.
Thanks for letting us live vicariously through your posted reports.
