Washington County has some small streams worth fishing. I've only fished them late November until March. The solitude of fishing in beautiful places makes up for smaller fish. Plus you can usually get away without a coat many winter days. My favorites are Beaver Dam Wash above Motoqua, Leeds Creek and Santa Clara. You won't make it to Beaver Dam Wash in the Prius but I some how usually manage in my Subaru.

That's both the stream and the road but you only have about 10 crosses. Figure max water depth roughly inch for every 1 CFS on the USGS site. It actually takes sometime from St. G to reach. But the reward is almost guaranteed solitude.

Did see a fishing guide labeled truck trying to make it's way in once bit otherwise not a soul in dozens of trips in. Leeds is extremely brushy but only 15-20 minutes from St. G. A shorter rod is a must for it.

Here's a list of places some closer than others. And a few actually have big trout. http://www.redrockadventure.com/fishing/.../index.htm
The other place to remember is Lee's Ferry below Lake Powell in Arizona

Fishable all year and the rainbows average larger than the trout on the Green below FG. They actually aren't as domesticated as that other tailwater so they put up a reasonable fight. Given it's size not all of it is wadable by a long shot.

Always check what's planned with flows before heading over. It's a spectacular location to fish
