This is the problem with talking with a keyboard, sometimes the intent of what is said doesn't come across. I didn't mean any offense, just trying to clarify the regs a little so nobody gets in trouble. That's what I would want somebody to do for me in that situation.
And you're right about the coho thing... mostly (that's a pretty good memory you've got there by the way). I was even fishing in the same spot using the same method, BECAUSE I catch a lot of steelhead there. I've caught WAY more steelhead than coho there. I even caught my biggest steelhead ever there. Was I excited to catch another coho? You becha! Was I targeting them? No. But like you said, try to prove that either way and I'm not sure you can. It boils down to everybody's own integrity in following the regs.
Anyway, I also think you're probably right about the fish for what it's worth. I never said what I thought it was. I posted my picture in case it helped him make an ID one way or the other.
Oh and I can't afford to go to Vegas. I blew all my money on lures for steelhead fishing, then I lost them all on the bottom of the Clearwater... [:p]
