If the hens don't get so colored up care to tell me why that fish is as black as a Mississippi cotton picker in the 1800's? Typical characteristic of male salmon is the jawline will extend past the eye while the female counterparts jawline does not. Despite the picture angle its quite clear that the jawline extends past the eye. That being said I would bet money that fish is a male and if it were a male coho in that state of decay it certainly would have quite a hooked jaw with a bulbous nose.
