We went to fishkake today and got there around 9:30am. No problems with getting on or off the ice. Ice was 12-14 inches thick. The walk out at 9:30 was just fine, sinking into the overnight hardened snow only 2-4 inches. It was gusty winds, not howling winds and about 35-40 degrees. Set up the tent, set the jawjacker outside the tent, tipped the ratfinkees (sp) with small worms from the garden. Ended up with 5 rainbows, all around 16 inches. I was catching them at depths of 12 feet down to about 25. I dont have an official guage. We also caught 2 splakes using a white jig tipped with chub that was frozen from 3 weeks ago. The bigger splake was 18 inches. We left around 2:00 pm and the snow had turned to slush in spots, maybe 4 inches deep. Good day overall. Others were also catching trout and perch.
