[#0000FF]Add my welcome to the list. I have spent a bit of time in Dade and Broward Counties...working and fishing. Also a bit across the Alligator Alley and up at Tampa St. Pete. Really miss a lot of that fishing.
A few of us on the site also build rods and do basic repairs on rods and reels. Also a lot of fly tiers and jig makers...like myself.
Only saltwater species we can offer are brine shrimp, from the Great Salt Lake. But lots of different fresh water denizens...from a bunch of different lakes and streams. You can spend a lifetime checking them all out.
A good place to spend some time online would be on the various web pages of the Utah DWR website at http://wildlife.utah.gov/fishing-in-utah.html
You fill find listings for different waters...and maps...and coverage for what species are in each of them. Also a species by species treatment that will give you some of the basics of where to go and how to fish them. But, of course, that is only the reading part. You still have to get on the water and learn the real stuff for yourself.
Let us know a bit about your preferred style of fishing (bank, boat, tube, toon, kayak, etc.) and the type of tackle you like best. Also, any particular species or waters you might want to start on. We have a pretty broad spectrum of anglers and angling styles represented here and I'm sure we can get you properly launched.
