I have mixed feelings on it. I don't like the tactics of the canal company, but I find myself fishing the river less and less because of the high flows and all the debris that is constantly floating in the water. Not to mention all the trash that people leave there. If it means more consistent water levels at some of the largemouth reservoirs nearby, plus another reservoir for smallmouth, it might not be all that bad. It's a very picturesque canyon which will be 
to lose, but like I said, people keep trashing it anyway, and the large trout seem less and less common there.
