Which motor to get?

I highly second Mojo's recommendation to get the digital speed control trolling motor. I started with the 5 speed Minn-Kota Endura but even at 1 it was way too fast for slow trolling. They came out with the Endura Max last year for an add'l $100 and it's been great. I can now go as fast or slow as I need to and I can hold a precise spot in the wind. The smallest size is 40# but the battery lasts longer for me as I believe it's more efficient at the slower speeds. I rarely use the higher speeds other than early and late in the day going out/coming in and the extra weight is insignificant.
