[#0000FF]You weren't very specific on where you will be fishing them and for what species.
There are a lot of different options in size, shape, colors, etc....of both plastics and jig heads for plastics. You can fish tiny 1" or 1 1/2" plastics not only for panfish but even some pretty good sized trout, bass, walleye, etc. You will want bigger tubes for most Utah fishing, but might even go to the huge tubes used for fishing macks on the Gorge or Bear Lake.
There are also choices in shapes for jig heads. Some are streamlined and narrow to fit up inside the tubes. Others have large barbs on them to allow you to fish colored heads outside the plastic...for color contrast or enhancement.
Your budget is not going to allow you to buy a full range of jig heads. Best to try a good assortment of the ones you will likely use most...and then buy more if you develop a serious liking for them.
I have several jig molds that make different sizes and shapes...and I paint them in a wide range of colors. You would be welcome to come over and take a look to help you better decide what your best options might be. And I can give you some good pricing on whatever you might want to get started.
