BFT Traveling Fly Box
#22
This is my last report with the BFT traveling fly box as it has now been sent to Photobill.

A couple of weeks ago I headed to a small stream about an hour from my house with high hopes that the winter season would be as good as the summer. For the first hour I fished various nymphs with no success. Then it started snowing and a magical midge hatch came off. The fish started feeding all up and down the stream. It was really tough because I couldn't see my fly through the snow. I hook three and my son hooked a couple. We didn't get any of them in. I guess we need practice with the size 28 flies. In a matter of minutes the top water was over for the day. I then found a red copper pheasant tail in the BFT fly box. The hatch must have sparked some feeding because I caught one after another on that nymph until it was beat up. It is now retired in the back of the fly box.

Having the BFT fly box gave me the excuse to get out a couple of more times than I other wise might have at this time of year. I hope everyone else has as much fun as I have had. I can't wait to hear the stories from future users of the BFT fly box.
