Fishing boat rebuild - before and after
#1
So last summer I picked up a gently used pontoon to assist in my addiction to hook into some bass out at the lake. I selected this boat mostly due to the price and with the intent to restore it. Over the summer and fall I was able to log about 150 hours in it and had a blast. After a lot of procrastination I finally took the plunge to start the rebuild a few weeks ago. Here are a few picks, i am about 95% done now.

Minus some sun damage the boat was relatively clean. I opted to replace the seating arrangement all together due to it feeling too crowded when you got near the back of the boat. I pretty much only use it to fish so crowded is not good.

I removed a lot of storage space but only to open up deck space for fishing and moving around. I would tend to just horde useless junk in the storage anyhow. Instead of keeping the rear section as one long seat i split it to open up access to the rear of the boat for easier trolling / rear pole management.

I still will be picking up a new bimini top, but this one works fine for now and also have some decals on order.

The paint....holy hell....never painting again. Finally got it where I wanted it but that took a LOT of time and patience. Not to mention a re-stripping and repainting more then once.

Now i just have to bolt on all of my fishing toys.
