I love the idea of draining Powell, I think I need to get involved with them and stop being just another frustrated dude.
Do these articles (and the commenters) keep ignoring California's water use because they somehow get a pass because of all the agriculture, or does the general population just not know California is supposed to be a desert too? A desert with massive farms with even more massively wasteful water usage practices.
In parts of India (I think, may have been elsewhere) they have started covering their open canals with solar panels, reducing evaporation and generating a bit of energy. But California, the "progressive" state, continues to suck out as much water as they can from their neighbors, and run it through hundreds of miles of open canals.
Sorry for the rant, I seem to be getting angrier the closer I get to 30.
