Wipers on Flies?

I have fished the south marina area from a pontoon three times this year with one day catching three wipers. Used a seven wt rod, type three full sink and perch color minnow pattern flies. Also used 12 lb leader, friend had several break off with 8 lb. Good luck if you go, the fight after hook up is a hoot!
