Idaho Salmon Fishing Etiquette
#71
I'm thrilled that, "everyone", has realized what has happened to all of Idaho's anadromous species....

As for Idaho's sturgeon being native....you are exactly correct!! Just as our Chinook, Silvers, Sockeye, and Steelhead, are "native". I'll bet prior to 1938, when Bonneville Dam was completed, there were more "anadromous" species than we had any idea of.....

You're also, "spot on", when you say, Columbia River anadromous species spawned in Nevada, just as they did into Montana, and southern Canada. However, man has "shut down", most every anadromous fishery, from Southern California, northward to British Columbia. Most of these River systems have suffered the same decline in all of our anadromous fisheries.

You act like the sturgeon population is the only species that has suffered due to man's influence.....

So do tell, what is the cause of the northwest's decline of the sturgeon runs....???
