BFT Traveling Fly Box
#53
Sorry for the delay. Work and school has kept me pretty busy last couple weeks. Received the fly box right when the Salmon Flies where coming off Henrys Fork. Took it with me on a couple float trips memorial day weekend. Only flies I used on those two trips were the purple and black and tan rubber legs. Hooked them up as a dropper off of a black and orange Chubby Chernobyl that I tied up. All the action I got was on the Chubby. Roped in several nice rainbows and browns and a big bruised brown broke me off before we could get him netted. On Memorial day we took the second float and only caught one fish but didnt spend a lot of time and effort since on the way to the launch I lost a wheel bearing on the boat trailer. At that point I was more worried about getting the parts to fix it and ended up floating warm river to ashton, left the boat at the resevoir for abour 4 hours while we went back to Rexburg and got parts and tools to fix the trailer. Total disaster of a day. Spent opening morning up at Henrys Lake by the cliffs. Spent the day going back and forth between catching the shallow cutties and trolling/stripping leaches in the deeper water. Caught alot of cutties on just about any fly I threw at them including a couple on the green crystal and a few on a black and white chronomid pattern in the box. Best fish of that day was a 21" hybrid my brother caught on a purple showgirl. Took the box out on more time last saturday up Asthon dam and once again had no luck on any of the flies in the box. Hooked into one fish on a golden stone dry pattern but he spit the hook pretty quickly. Attached are a few pics from that weekend. AverysAdventure if you will PM your mailing address Ill get the box off to you ASAP.
