A little late on the update. Let's just say it was an adventure.
We headed out in the morning on Thursday. We are coming from Stansbury Park and made it to just past Saltaire when I felt a bad vibration. Pulled over and we had thrown a tread on one of my boat trailer tires. Swapped it with the spare and it looked like the sidewall was sagging a bit, though I had aired it up. We decided to head up. Made it to the lake a couple of hours later than planned. The good side is the boat is running better and better each trip.
We trolled around for a while with no bites and hardly anything showing on the finder. After a while we hit the West shore and pitched some lures. My friend quickly caught about a 12" smallmouth, but that was it.
Some more trolling for a while and we marked a couple on the finder at a point on the Northeast end of the lake. We pitched some lures again for a while and came in with a couple of 6" smallies. The wind was getting pretty strong by that point and couldn't hold a position and it was difficult holding a direction trolling.
We headed down to the south end of the lake and marked a few fish on the finder in that area. We finally landed one good rainbow that was around 15-16" on a rapala.
We headed home and made it back to the sugarhouse area when we threw the tread on the spare tire. It still held air so we limped it off and into the Shopko parking lot. Calling the tire shops around there, they said they were closing soon and didn't have anything that could help us. A quick search of KSL found a guy selling new trailer tires on rims. I called him and he was selling for $80 each, and offered to bring them to me and help throw them on for another $30. Well worth it to avoid driving around, etc. $200 later and I have 2 new tires on my trailer.
Not the most successful fishing trip, but it cost a bit.
My next trip will likely be from shore on Mill Meadow since I can't take the camp trailer and boat at the same time.
