Deer Creek walleye tips?
#9
Interesting, where did you buy your green light? Do you use it just to see what you are doing or to attract fish?
I can assure you a green light is not necessary to catch walleyes. It might help but I don't think it makes much of a difference. Maybe he can chime in with his experience.
They don't need light to feed... the light might attract bait-fish but again it is definitely not needed to catch walleyes. I like to stay mobile at night and cover a lot of water... in Wyoming you can't use a light anyways - but if you use a light I would think it would take some time for baitfish to take notice and show up.

Big key at night imo is.... fish bigger than usual. Fish baits / lures that put off more vibration and flash. Fish shallower than you would during the day. Move, move, move. The fish might be spread out all over the place... or piled up in a few key spots. If you aren't moving around you probably won't do very well.

I always fish for them from shore at night... but if you got a boat and you troll certain lures parallel to the shoreline... you will tear them up. PM me if anyone is interested in details or has specific questions.
