I did the same thing but with different results.a buddy and I were at Utah lake and I had a carp on when my other rod got yanked in.mine was about $350 set up.it was about 2 am. I tried looking for it but with no luck.I was about to just jump in until my buddy pulled up a old rusty chair out of the area I was going in.that changed my mind. With no possible chance of seeing didn't want to get cut up by having the wrong thing.
