I've been thinking about your question, if I want a productive day of fishing I always fish alone, it seems like when I take company with me to fish I'm always providing poles bait, and teaching them how to fish, don't get much time to fish for myself, often when you take someone they feel obligated to carry on a conversation. Talk talk talk! I prefer the solitude and quite of fishing alone, I like quite, no talking just focusing on fishing period. You miss the details when fishing with someone else, There is a place for both but I'll take solitude 90% of the time
