Does anyone grow a garden?
#21
Well Coot, no fish story, that's one great yard you got there! Not to be out done, and in true fisherman fashion, I place my Tongue in my cheek and my elbow in your ribs to say "my garden is bigger!" [cool] I could never compete with your formal arranging, but my garden's not without its charms.

My yard looks great in the Spring when all the bulbs come up. (My bride looks great year round.)

then nursing them in the greenhouse.

Then put them in the yard to grow. I didn't have to purchase a single plant this year from a nursery.

One of the "crowd favorites" have been these "summer poinsettias. The can get up to 4' tall. Very cool. I love having plants that are so unusual.

I also do veggies. But man... this year has powdery mildew and my squash are a bit past their time... but my tomatoes ROCK this year! I've been picking ripe tomatoes since the first week of June. Yeah, if you start from seeds that are available in catalogs, there are varieties that will do that. And, I have some that are yellow and almost as sweet as peaches. (Coot, you'd be amazed at just how fantastic some of those "weird" varieties taste that you wouldn't let me give you! [Wink])

Unfortunately... I really haven't been out fishing much this Summer... I hope I can get out soon!

Best to all you fellow fisher/gardener folks!
