To spear...or not to spear?

hmm, Ive never even tried spearfishing and i can see how it could be a fun and challenging sport. definitely a lot more physically demanding than sitting on a boat all day... or even walking around a shoreline. Im willing to bet more than half of the people talking negatively about spearfishing have never even given it a try, and yet they talk down to someone who has, really its all quite childish. The ignorance and opinionated claims I see on this site baffle me sometimes.
