Cutler Count Down 10-13-14
#17
Hey John, I've noticed the same thing numbers wise this fall. I'm not catching a third of what I did in the past, but there are a lot more boats fishing it this year and so I think with pressure the catch dwindles. I'm not sure what the deal is with crappie either I only seem to be able to catch one every once in a while. I see a cloud of them every so often on the graph but they don't ever want to play much. Don't know what to recommend for your fishing dilemma. My fishing log is telling me I need to try trout. Every fall about this time I get really big number trout days like 40 fish days. We nailed them at Chesterfield one year on the deer hunt opener and they were up to 22" fish. But the hope of a walleye and low expense has kept me home so far this fall. Guess I'm trying trout tomorrow so I'll try to report how that turns out. Going to be a different type fishing for me so will need to go school and see what I learn.

I appreciate the salsa offer, but I've been releasing everything, but I did keep that last wiper and a couple kitties from Willard that I haven't ate yet. May have to have a taco night. Good luck where ever you decide to go and I'll try to keep an update on. Reservoir levels. Oh I think you ask about the river during the drawdown. Last year it dropped about 5' so a lot of it was only a couple feet deep, but the holes were still deeper. I figured the holes would be great fishing, but it wasn't; the fish really shutdown after the drop and I never did catch much after until about May before it finally picked up again for me. Hope it will be better this time, but I don't expect it to be. Anyway got to get to work. Later J
