Great fish! Fishing has been good for us this week also. Ice in the Hatchery creek area was the same as yesterday, right at 5 inches. Slow at first light, which is usually the golden hour, but then it really picked up until it absolutely died at 11. Iced over 30, and lost at least 15. 36 degrees when we left, but doubt the temps will affect the ice any. Also, as a bonus, got to meet and talk with Damon, the new (and old) fishery manager. He checked our licenses and also came back out two different times to see how we were doing. Got an excellent education about the hybrid species that is stocked and his feelings about the overall health of the lake. He was excited to see people out ice fishing and overall is a really genuine person to talk with; you can tell he cares a great deal not only about the health of the fishery but also the fisherman's experience.
