Will it work as an ice-fishing rod?
#9
you are in good shape, just grab your spinning open face slap it on there go out and get some ice line to put on your spool.

that rod is plenty stiff enough to pull in a 12-15 pound walleye through a hole in the ice.

you will need a gaft. that is a must for pulling in the big eyes and pike. a gaft is a hook on the end of a rod of some type. slip it under the gill and pull them up through. if you dont you will end up breaking your line. if you are fishing in an area where there is 30 inches of ice, make sure you get a rod long enough to reach the bottom of the ice and have a foot to spare.

you can make it out of just about any thing. it dosnt have to be a sharp hook eather.

half the fun of ice fishing is making the gear you use to do the sport. ice fishing is truly a handy mans sport. I have never seen a sport use more duct tape than ice fishing.[cool]
