Help with night 'Eyes on DC

I drive to Heber everyday and have tried to catch a few DC 'Eyes at night there a few times this past month with nothing. With the ice in no hurry to make an appearance i have decided to try form shore. I have done a bit of research but mostly what i can find is Great Lakes information (they mostly throw big stick baits around weed-lines and drop-offs this time of year) and i know the Eyes here are completely different. I am asking if anybody is willing to share a few tips on tackle, time, and location, I am perfectly fine with PMs knowing most information is sacred,

Ill mostly be able to fish it at night after work on my way home, and i do not have access now to a toon or boat.
