Will it work as an ice-fishing rod?

I guess we got ripped off here in Cali. I looked at the local sporting goods and they all have a piece rod and reel. It was the same for the barbie, mickeymouse, and even the sponge bob.

You are right about the 1 piecers breaking and it's all over. I wouldn't mind getting a sponge bob and put a good shimano reel on it.
