I have the pancam. Visibility underwater varies from Lake to lake but usually if my cam is within 10-15 feet I can still see my lure. The motor that turns the camera is borderline useless ,for me anyways. Especially if you're trying to move it in smaller increments. The motor just doesn't work well unless you have the slack in the cable just right. But honestly I don't think I would use that feature much even if it worked properly. I just grab the handle and turn it manually. I use an old galaxy s3 that I won't be too
about if it goes down the hole. But I also use my phone mount that attaches to the windshield of my truck to hold the phone in the cup holder of my camp chair. It stays pretty good that way and I'm sure I'll figure out a better way to mount to my chair so it can't fall in the hole. I also have an old toshiba thrive tablet but the app won't work on it for some reason. It would definitely be better on a bigger screen. The battery on the pancam lasts all day with good battery still left. Fishing for 8 hours or so. My phone battery would die about halfway through but I have a Jackery phone charger backup thing that keeps it going for two days. Hard to see the screen when the sun is out (at least on my old phone). In the tent it's great. Overall I'm happy with it.. Everybody else I go with has a flasher which work great for everything except for what's right on the bottom. The pancam gets all those. Hope that helps!
