I always like the likes up around the Row Lakes. Purple is still one of my favorites. It produces very nice brook trout. Not far from Purple is Blue, which has some of the best grayling fishing in the state! I would recommend that area to anyone wanting to learn the mountain.
From there, you also have access to the Boulder Top (Rim, Spectacle, etc.). But, even June may be too early to get up there.
