Stingy Starvy Revisited 7-14-15
#21
[#0000FF]The upgrades and renovations at Starvation have doubtless played a part in the increased popularity. But the "primitive" camping areas at Knight Hollow and Rabbit Gulch...two of my fave tubing launch sites...have also seen huge increases in weekday use throughout the year.

One of the first "upgrades" to affect Rabbit Gulch was the paving of the access road. It used to be like a moonscape trying to navigate back to the camping and fishing area. That kept out a lot of expensive boats and motorhomes. And there were a lot more actual rabbits to be seen. Once access was improved the average user changed from tenters to megabucks trailers, motorhomes and boats. Both the noise level and the water traffic increased proportionately. The bunnies? Lucky to see any these days.

Sorry you had to vacate Starvy. Does your bro in law Ed still hit it much? I don't hit Knight Hollow as much as I used to and it has been a long time since I last saw him.

I'm guessing/hoping that the current large showing of small perch will have a positive effect on the walleyes. Maybe we need to do some "bucket biology" with lots of rattlesnakes to cut down on the insane shoreline takeover.
