[#0000FF]Believe it or not, I am using a series 27 Cabelas AGM battery. 65#. And yes, it does take some engineering. I have experimented with several different mounts of PVC (what else) and finally came up with a compact, all-inclusive motor mount and floatation setup that goes under my tube. It uses air filled boat bumpers for the floatation and is sufficient to hold the motor and battery...with the tube level. And even after I add my two hundred and plenty pounds on the seat I still float high and dry.
It should be noted that not all float tubes can be easily modified to take a motor and battery. But most of the U or V tubes with a storage space behind the seat can be fitted. Although some are still not large enough for a full size battery and you need to use a smaller wheel chair battery.
