Ice fishing contest this year?

The location is Eagle Ridge Ranch in Island Park. They let people fish (kids only I think) on one pond for one day. They (the local outdoor TV show and others) gave prizes to those who caught fish. I was just wondering what I need to tell my 9 year old prior to going in a couple of months. Last year he Caught a 16" rainbow and I think the largest was 20". I do not plan to fish there or count anything if I do.
