[#0000FF]Lots of wheelers and snow machines on Starvy. As long as the edges are good the ice is usually plenty thick once it caps good. Doesn't take long in that cold zone to build 12 inches of solid ice.
No special regulations about getting on or off the ice at any particular spot. But the favored spots are the main parking area at Rabbit Gulch, the end of old Hwy 40 at Indian Bay and the main state park launch ramp. However, if the dirt roads are driveable down into Knight hollow you can get on the ice there too.
There are a lot of good ice spots on Starvy that are too far from road access to be easily reached by those without machines. So if you have one you can get away from the crowds and often find better action.
