Got a crazy idea to take a quick trip to Pineview with my son last night. Thought maybe we'd have a chance at some solitude since it was the middle of the week (haha). It was our first ice fishing trip for crappie. Didn't expect much. Just hoped to get a few. Ended up fishing for about 2 hours. Caught enough for a meal. The light bite described on this forum is an exaggeration--I'd say it was more like a slight pulse or twitch!!! Once we figured that out, we started to ice a few. I dropped my underwater camera down and was amazed at how many fish were there, and how they were able to inhale and spit out our bait and barely move the rod tip or line!! I also have no idea what triggers the bite. Same bait, same dead stick or jigging action and 10 fish go by, then one busts in and gulps it. We had a blast but still have a lot to learn! ![Smile Smile](https://bigfishtackle.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.png)
