Hey guys - heading up to Bear Lake for the long weekend for a getaway with my wifey. We are hoping to get a little time on the ice. We are staying at ideal beach resort - so i know the rock pile can get pretty busy. we might look at any other spots as well. I don't have a snow mobile nor a 4wheeler, so can't go really far but I don't driving to different places or over to the east side.
Years ago shore fishing (we only had waverunners so we carried line out and dropped) I hooked into the fish of a life that got off, I've caught 20-24 inch fish before, and this thing felt like it could have eaten them! I've been addicted to the idea of catching anything like that since. Everyone has a story of the one that got away though
I have seen a few updates on the fishing - can any one give a recent update on ice conditions? And if any one is willing to share any tips for general locations, depths, bait - basically I've seen tube jigs with meat. I'll have to check cabelas for anything besides the little red sided shiners - would love any help! PM is great as well.
- thanks.
