Made my first ever trip to bear lake, and caught my first bonneville cutthroat. I fished 2 days sunrise til past dark and today from 5.30 until noon. I caught only two macks, five cutthroat, and three whiteys. Pretty slow. Everybody I ran into kept saying you should have been here last week (figures).the first mack I caught was incredible. I've never had a fish be unstoppable through the ice for so long. He made one huge run that took me to within 20 yards of spooling me before I finally turned him. The Mack is the only one that needs scored. The tape is not straight past my board, but it's not a contender for biggest fish so all I need is 25 from it. I was in a hurry to get it back down the hole. It's the biggest fish I've ever caught and I asked my neighbor on the ice to come take a picture for me. caught him yesterday on a blue northland jigging spoon tipped with crawler. One other thing, that ice is the weirdest I have ever been on. Every morning it will instantly shift 6" one direction with no warning at all followed by a huge bang all the way up the lake. It's the weirdest feeling I assume similar to what an earth quake feels like.
