Over the weekend I visited family in Southeast Idaho. On Tuesday morning I drove up to Henry's Lake, which had opened the weekend before. At first light there was already a strong wind blowing in from the north, and three foot waves against the boat ramp. I watched for a while but it didn't seem like people were doing well. I've since learned that the fishing is better later in the month.
I tried the outlet (nothing), and then tried the Henry's Fork, which had opened the weekend before. I caught one and lost another in the current. I wish I had focused on the river from the start. There are always a lot of anglers, but it is a rewarding place to fish. Hope to get back again later in the year.
