So a little tech. to use when the wind is like that up there is get on the shore line where the wind is at your back, tie on a leach pattern suspended under a decent sized strike indicator Toss it close and let the wind carry it from you. The wave action with the indicator will jig the fly essentially until it drifts far enough away and then strip it back like you normally would. Something I picked up watching one of the Canadian Fly Fishing shows and it has produced well when the conditions are like that.
